About and sources
Recall Record republishes US government recall records so that anyone can see a company's full recall history and the current status of each recall in one place.
- FDA data: openFDA food, drug and device enforcement reports since 2018. Records are grouped into recall events using the FDA's event identifier. openFDA notes its data should not be relied on for medical decisions.
- CPSC data: the CPSC recalls database since 2018. The CPSC service returned errors for three quarters (January to March 2020, October to December 2022 and January to March 2025), so recalls from those periods are not yet included.
- Company names are grouped by the name the agencies publish. Different companies with similar names may appear together, and one company may appear under more than one name.
- We do not add, remove or edit recalls. Pages are rebuilt from the agencies' data.
